Imagine a medical career you'd never want to leave
I help physicians who are exhausted, physically and mentally, and feel like they give everything and it's never enough.
Physician Longevity helps you step back, see your life as it is now, and adjust your practice to fit. Then recalibrate as life changes.
The result can be a rewarding career that you continue by choice, not necessity.
I've been there.
I love being a physician, and I've had an amazing and fulfilling career. For years, however, I assumed exhaustion came with the job. Catching up on charts and inbox messages at night and on weekends meant less sleep and less time with my family, and I found myself thinking, "I love my profession and my patients, but I do not like my job."
I studied the strategies and tried the hacks, but nothing made my physician life sustainable. I was skeptical of coaching at first; it sounded questionable and soft. But when nothing else seemed to work, I took a leap of faith and tried it. With physician coaching, I started to see options that had been invisible, and to make changes toward a life and career that fit me now. I've been designing both intentionally ever since. Now I help other physicians do the same.
What is Physician Longevity?
Physician longevity is the opposite of physician burnout. It means building a career and life you want to live, so that medicine becomes a profession you want to continue long after you could retire.
Our interests, responsibilities and environments change over the years. We train, then begin practicing. We navigate changes in our families, our own lives, our organizations and the world around us. Our careers can pivot and evolve along with these changes, if we design them to.
I work with physicians at every stage: residents and new attendings, parents adding a demanding new role, physicians who feel stuck, and those who are doing well and ready for what's next, even if it looks different from the career you trained for. You're still a doctor.
